The Cardinal Cushing Club
Named for our former Director, the late Richard Cardinal Cushing, the Cardinal Cushing Club offers its members the opportunity to be regular prayerful and material supporters of the Missions. Every member receives a Mission calendar with pre-addressed, post-paid monthly tear off envelopes for their financial sacrifices.

Club Members are able to take part in Mission events:
  • Come together with other club members to pray the
World Mission Rosary and celebrate Mass
  • Attend gatherings to listen to missionary speakers
  • Attend our yearly World Mission Sunday Mass at the Cathedral of the Holy
         Cross
  • Receive email updates about the work of missionaries from the
Archdiocese of Boston and how your support enables them to do their
          work

Richard James Cardinal Cushing was born in South Boston to Patrick and Mary Cushing on Aug. 25, 1895. After graduating from Boston College and St. John’s Seminary, he was ordained a priest in 1921. In 1922, Fr. Cushing was appointed Assistant Director for the Propagation of the Faith where he began a lifelong love for the missions. Known as the Bishop of the Missions, Cushing built a foundation of support that has led to the Boston office of the Pontifical Mission Societies status as one of the largest donors to the missions in the world
