Saint Thérèse of Lisieux is often called the Little Flower because she promised to send roses from heaven as an answer to prayers. Although she died at the young age of twenty-four and never achieved her dream of going to the missions, she was named the Patroness of the Missions because of her deep life of prayer for missionaries and the spread of the Gospel.
