Summer Appeal

Because our Mission Family is truly connected to the ends of the earth, it is our privilege to hear the witness stories of many people from the missions. One in particular that struck a chord is that of Harrison Banda, a student at Saint Dominic Seminary in Lusaka, Zambia. Harrison is the second of seven children. He describes his family as “staunch Catholics…peasant farmers who depend on the Providence of God.”

Harrison goes on to say, “It becomes heart breaking to them when they see their child choose to follow Christ as a priest.”

Their strong reaction to Harrison’s choice of vocation comes from the sad knowledge that his family can do nothing to help him achieve his goal of serving God’s people. Their own poverty and inability of their diocese to pay Harrison’s seminary fees means that, like many mission families, they may see their son say no to God’s calling.

Like other families of mission seminarians around the world, thank God for YOU – donors to The Society for St. Peter Apostle. YOU make it possible for every student like Harrison to receive a yearly grant of $750. This covers roughly half his tuition, room, and board

For roughly $2 a day over the course of a year, your prayerful generosity allows families in the missions to celebrate the good news of their sons’ vocations!

Perhaps a gift of $83 – a month’s school for a seminarian - is more affordable.  If $51 makes sense for your budget, you will provide a seminary student with a textbook; $27 purchases much needed notebooks and pens.

Donate to The Society of St. Peter Apostle today
and help more young men answer the call to the priesthood in the missions.
Please consider making a monthly pledge towards that goal!
